What Is Teeth in a Day?
Traditionally, the entire dental implants process may take several months to a year or longer. The Teeth in a Day treatment streamlines the treatment. Once the remaining natural teeth are removed, a series of dental implants (typically 4 – 6) are placed throughout the jaw and an immediate load implant-retained denture is placed on top — all on the same day! This initial denture is temporary in nature. It will be replaced with a permanent version after the implants have fully integrated with your bone and gum tissue.
What Are the Benefits of Teeth in a Day?
The most outstanding benefit of Teeth in a Day is, of course, that you get a set of beautiful teeth on the same day you receive your dental implants. Other benefits include:
- Due to the unique nature of the surgical process, even many individuals who have lost bone mass in their jaw are candidates for Teeth in a Day. This is because the implants are placed at an angle toward the front and back of the jaw, in places where the bone is naturally thickest and strongest.

How Does the Process Work?
To receive Teeth in a Day, you must first schedule a consultation with our office so we can determine your eligibility to receive treatment. During your consultation, we will capture detailed X-rays. We will also take three-dimensional scans using a CT machine. The CT scan will help us precisely plan for your implant process by letting us know exactly where your blood vessels and connective tissues are.
After you’re approved for treatment, we’ll establish a time and day to have it completed in-house. During your procedure, we’ll use local anesthesia and perhaps sedation to ensure that you are comfortable. Once you’re settled, we’ll make small incisions in your gum tissue, place the implants, then close the gums before we place your temporary restoration. This denture is worn as your implants heal, allowing you to leave the office with a confident and beautiful smile! After three to six months of healing, you’ll come back to our office and have your permanent teeth fitted.
Teeth in a Day Aftercare
Following your surgery, you’ll need to adjust some of your daily habits so your mouth heals as quickly as possible and with a low risk of complications. You should:
- Stick to a liquid or extremely soft food diet for a few days. Things like applesauce, smoothies, and pudding are all safe choices. Then, you can progress to foods that require minimal chewing.
- Avoid the use of any tobacco products.
- Carefully follow our hygiene instructions to minimize your risk of infections.
- Don’t apply any heat to the surgical site.
After the first few days, you’ll still need to be diligent about oral hygiene and be cautious with what you eat. Our team will be available to address any concerns or answer any questions that may arise during your recovery period.

Teeth in a Day has a higher upfront cost than non-implant tooth replacement methods. However, it may cost less than traditional implants. You may be a candidate for Teeth in a Day if:

Traditional dental implants can replace one, a few, or all teeth, while Teeth in a Day is designed to replace an entire arch of teeth at once. When traditional implants are used to provide full-arch replacement, at least 6 – 8 of them are required, which is more than what is required for Teeth in a Day. Traditional implant patients may need a bone graft before their implant placement surgery, and that is usually not necessary with Teeth in a Day.
While Teeth in a Day offers some advantages over traditional implants, the traditional method does have its high points. For example, it can be used with either a removable or permanent denture, whereas a Teeth in a Day prosthetic will always be in your mouth. Also, using more implants can mean more long-term support for your teeth and jaw.

With Teeth in a Day, you’ll receive a new set of teeth on the same day as your implant placement surgery. However, that will be after some preparation (that is to say, your surgery won’t be on the same day as your consultation — we’ll need time to plan your procedure and design your temporary restoration). After your Teeth in a Day surgery, you’ll need to wait some time for your permanent restoration. Hence, in total, the Teeth in a Day procedure can take several months.
Any surgery comes with at least a small amount of risk. However, rest assured that dental implants are successful in over 95% of cases. If you do encounter complications, it may be because the implants do not properly bond with your bone. Or, it is possible that an infection could affect the area around the implants. We take precautions to minimize the chances that anything will jeopardize your smile’s long-term viability.
The good news is since the restorations used to rebuild your smile are made from ceramic, they cannot develop decay. However, you’ll still need to practice daily brushing and flossing to keep plaque and tartar at bay. Whether you use a manual or electric toothbrush, just make sure that it has soft bristles and feels comfortable against your replacement teeth. Choose a floss specifically designed for implants or unwaxed floss to ensure that the surrounding tissue is cleaned. A water flosser can also make it easy to clean the area underneath your restoration. The daily use of a non-alcoholic oral rinse can provide an even more thorough cleaning and disinfection process.
